Kurinji Andavar Temple – History
The Kurinji Andavar Temple inaugurated in 1936. A European lady Leelavathi came to Kodaikanal, India, got faith in the Hindu religion and raised the temple. Leelavathi also married a Tamilian Ramanathan. Later on, the lady called Miss Ramanathan. Furthermore, Leelavathi’s granddaughter, Devi Prasad Baskaran and her husband Baskaran donated this temple to the Palani Andavar Temple. It initially named SRI KURINJI EASWARE TEMPLE in which Kurinji meant the flower and Easware means the Lord. From time to time ⌛ the name is changed to the Kurinji Andavar Temple.
What is Kurinji?
Kurinji is a flower where the temple has a lot of Kurinji flowers🌼. It blossoms once in 12 years. The last time it bloomed in 2018 at that time, many of the tourists enjoyed the view. The next time Kurinji flowers will bloom in 2030. You can also see the trees nearby the Temple road and Chettiar Park as well which is 1 KM away from the Temple.
The Road to the Kurinji Andavar Temple
The road to the temple will be smaller in size. It’s not maintained well in fact. You can reach the temple road from Kodaikanal in two ways. One is from Man-Made🎨 Kodai Lake and, another thrilling road is via Chettiar Park Road. You can explore the second interesting route here.

The temple remains open from 7 AM to 7 PM all the days except the pandemic times such as Covid-19.

It’s not a vaigai dam it’s varathamanathi dam
