How did the Name Come? – A Deep Dive into History!

Let’s rewind a bit!

In the first place, the rocks protrude from the face of the cliff, so that they named Pillar-Shaped Rocks.
Shola trees🌲 and lush green grasses🌿 cover the cliffs.
The Gnarled Shola trees(Old Trees) and their spread roots add an impression to the tourists.
Being said that, In 1821, An American B.S Ward initially found this place initially.

In light of him and their analysis, they believed that the Pandavas were lived here and used this place as a Kitchen.
Later on, this place called Devil’s Kitchen🍳. In the early 1900s, there are few trekkers and hikers used to go into the deep of the cave.

In 1991, Kamal Hassan starring Guna movie🎥 developed in the Devils’ Kitchen.
After the film went blockbuster🎆, people started visiting the place and from time to time they call this place Guna Caves.
As an effect of this, few tourists tried to enter the caves and failed to make it. So far, we’ve lost almost 16 bodies in this cave. With this in mind, the govt made an iron fence afar from the actual cave.

Now tourists can view the place afar.

The Secret of the Name Devils Kitchen

As we have seen above, the name Kitchen comes from Pandavas.
But, where does the name Devil comes from, no answers for that?
People assume that is because of the dark area with no light inside the cave. And that is home to many small animals and especially for bats.
Darkness and bats made people believe there was a devil.
